Welcome to Magnum Farms

MAGNUM LLAMA FARMS  in White, Georgia is the home of Jimmy and Sheri Monger, llamas, babydoll sheep, pygmy goats, pot-bellied pigs, emus and chickens.

It all began with four Barred Rock chicks as backyard pets. Neither Jimmy nor I had ever owned any type of farm animal or spent any time on a farm. We were amazed at how tame and how much enjoyment these chickens had become. They would come when you called them and greeted you anytime you were outside.  We just adored our backyard chickens while living in the city. The fresh eggs were great as well. We had true guard chickens . . .

Not long after the chickens, was the fascination with llamas. We did some research on the internet and bought a book about raising llamas. Much to our amazement we found that llamas were quiet, gentle, sweet natured, and required little care and not much land.

Next, came the visit to Llamas of Atlanta on the coldest day of the year in 2003. This is where we purchased our first llama named Atlanta’s Nordic Prince and fell in love with llamas. Since then, we have purchased several other llamas and look forward to breeding them and watching the little crias play as our herds grow.

Anytime I go to visit a llama farm, my husband always checks to see if I have another llama in the van when I return. You can’t help it once you see them, you’re hooked.

Not long after purchasing our first llama we became interested in pygmy goats because of their small size.

Then came the interest in Pot-bellied Pigs. We purchased a female black pot-bellied pig just a week old and named her Ethel. We bottle fed her and she has been spoiled rotten ever since, sleeping with us and guarding our porches.

Then came the interest in Emus. I am not sure which is more curious llamas or Emus.

We moved from 2.6 acres in Marietta, Georgia to 49 acres in White, Georgia because of the animals and their needs. We have several pastures, but are constantly working on getting more pasture ready. We are excited to have the opportunity to share our lives with all these creatures. We hope to increase our number of animals and begin breeding our animals for future sales. We feel it is very important that the animals are friendly and receive the best care we can offer them. Never in a million years would we or our families and friends have thought we would be living on a farm and raising animals, but if we didn’t love it, we wouldn’t be doing it. With support and guidance from numerous people we are learning to be true farmers.

White Georgia is in Bartow County, located 50 miles North of Atlanta and 60 miles South of Chattanooga off I-75
